At Android Dev Summit 2026, Android Studio Rabbit 2 reached the stable channel with Bring Your Own Agent mode: over 40 agents (Claude Agent, Codex, Antigravity) can connect via the open ACP protocol. The Android CLI now includes android device remote and android preview, while AppFunctions are in beta.

🌍 Google is standardizing agent access to IDEs, devices, and app functions through ACP and Android MCP—reducing vendor lock-in and creating an integration market; Connected Apps Platform is in preview: over 50 apps are connected (Adobe, Calm, Peloton, Experian, Localiza).

👤 You can connect your own agent to Android Studio or the CLI; official plugins are available for Claude Code and Codex; according to Google, agents using android preview solve UI tasks 77% faster and use up to 3 times fewer tokens.
