💻 React Compiler Engineer: Most Software Will Need to Be Rewritten Due to AI Agents
Laura (@poteto) from the React Compiler core team, leading the Grok Bot team at xAI/SpaceX, published a manifesto on October 30, 2026: agents will deliver code in a “continuous stream,” like a rushing river, and smaller context will not prevent them from “not breaking” the system. This is a practitioner’s forecast, not a research study.
🌍 Value shifts from the “cleanliness” of code to designing constraints, guardrails, and frameworks where the agent does not break the system, and the “easy path” is the correct one.
👤 If agents are writing the code, build clear boundaries, documentation, and automated checks in advance. The Proton case serves as a warning: CEO Andy Yang banned “loving and hand-writing code” and called pre-deployment pentesting “loser thinking.”
