🛠 Gemini will call the store for you
Google has launched an early preview of the Call for Me feature: the Gemini agent calls stores and salons on behalf of the user, navigates the IVR menu, waits for an operator, and conveys agreed data. The call is made from the subscriber's real number through the beta version of the Phone app, with a live transcript on the screen. For now — only the US, Pixel 11, and a paid Gemini subscription.
🌍 The calling AI agent is integrated into the standard Phone app: call centers will have to handle the first contact with AI. This is a return of Duplex, which was shut down in 2022.
👤 US Pixel 11 owners with a Gemini subscription can delegate booking a table, checking stock, and rescheduling an appointment to the agent, while monitoring the transcript. Others — wait for the list of devices and regions to expand.
