🛠 Yandex launched autonomous AI agents in SourceCraft
The agents operate under their own account as team members: they prepare the environment, write and check code, run tests, and return the result for review, asking humans for help when data is lacking. Tasks can be assigned via GitLab, VS Code, and messengers; you can also connect your own agents from Yandex AI Studio.
🌍 According to McKinsey data cited by Yandex, agents reduce development task time by an average of 11.2% and rework by 6.8%. This is a shift from autocomplete to agents within the familiar development process.
👤 A bug in GitLab can be assigned to an agent: it will prepare the environment and send a fix for review — you can accept it or leave comments. The announcement does not include benchmarks or data on the model behind the agent.
