🛠 Spline V2: A 3D Editor Open to AI Agents

On August 20, Spline released V2 — a complete overhaul of its 3D editor. The default renderer is now WebGPU, with WebGL remaining as a fallback. The built-in AI Agent builds objects, materials, lighting, and cameras using the same tools as a human, and handles layout through a constraint solver: using "next to" and "above" instead of manual coordinates.

🌍 WebGPU reduces rendering overhead, while the MCP server opens the editor to external agents: a single file can be opened by a human, built out by an agent, and expanded with generated code — a ready-made template for agentic creative pipelines.

👤 The editor is available in the browser at app.spline.design or in a new desktop application for macOS and Windows. Run Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or VS Code alongside it — Spline will find them automatically via MCP, without any configuration.
