📉 75% of Americans are against AI data centers in their area

A poll by Embold Research, published on August 19 in Heatmap Pro, showed: 61% of respondents are categorically against. A year ago the situation was the opposite — 43% in favor and 42% against, and the decline is uniform: 43 points among Republicans, 65 among independents, 75 among Democrats.

🌍 The plan to expand AI infrastructure in the US is at political risk: the rejection of projects, lawsuits, and moratoriums are becoming the norm, and resistance to data centers — a topic of the 2026 elections; the costs of community engagement and rising electricity tariffs will fall on CAPEX.

👤 If a data center is being discussed near you, three-quarters of your neighbors will be against it at the hearings. Keep an eye on local decisions, electricity tariffs, and taxes: finished data centers provide few jobs.
