💰 AWS allows charging AI bots for content access
A content monetization feature for AI agents has arrived in AWS WAF Bot Control. Upon detecting bots (such as GPTBot or Claude-Web), the service can return an HTTP 402 Payment Required response. Payments are processed via the x402 protocol using USDC stablecoins on the Base and Solana networks, supported by the Coinbase x402 Facilitator.
🌍 This is an attempt to solve the problem of "parasitic" data consumption by AI agents that do not return advertising traffic. The implementation of the x402 standard for machine payments could create a new B2B micropayment market between AI services and publishers.
