🤖 Anthropic integrates Claude into drug development
On October 27, 2026, Anthropic detailed the application of Claude across all stages of drug development—from molecular design to regulatory documentation. The company also acquired startup Mithril Medicine: its founder, Cody Tranbarger, used Claude to coordinate 11 laboratories and advanced a therapy for rare LAMA2 muscular dystrophy to promising results in mice in less than 18 months.
🌍 For the first time, an AI company has publicly reported on the systematic integration of LLMs into the entire pharmaceutical pipeline: at Enveda, the review of manufacturing documentation was accelerated by 89%, and with Divergence Labs, Claude generated ~35,000 antibody variants in a month instead of ~9 months.
👤 LLMs are already doing real work in biomedicine with quantifiable results. All results are currently preclinical: the Mithril report is not peer-reviewed, and human trials are not expected before the end of 2028.
