Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company released the 11th e-Conomy SEA 2026 report, projecting that Southeast Asia's digital economy will grow by 17% to $368 billion in GMV in 2026 and exceed $1 trillion by 2035, while generative AI usage is expected to grow 60-fold by 2030.

💼 Southeast Asia's digital economy to reach $368 billion in 2026

Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company released the 11th e-Conomy SEA 2026 report, "Building the Intelligent Economy": the market is expected to grow by 17% year-over-year and exceed $1 trillion by 2035.

🌍 Capital is flowing into AI infrastructure: data center capacity has reached 5.8 GW, the region attracted $21 billion in funding in the first half of the year, and AI usage is projected to grow 60-fold by 2030.

👤 Generative AI is already part of daily life for 243 million of the region's 650+ million people, but per capita consumption is 12 times lower than in the US. According to the report, 75% of users are willing to trust AI agents with price comparisons and completing transactions.
