💼 Nvidia shifts GB202 chips to the professional segment
According to insider MEGAsizeGPU, all future supplies of GB202 dies (the flagship Blackwell chip) will go to the professional RTX Pro line, while production of the GeForce RTX 5090 is ceasing. The card has disappeared from Nvidia's US store, and retailers mark it as Discontinued. Nvidia has neither confirmed nor denied the information.
🌍 Nvidia is moving scarce silicon to high-margin accelerators: the RTX PRO 6000 with 96 GB of GDDR7 costs around $16,000, compared to $1,999 for the RTX 5090. The RTX 5080 24 GB on the GB203 die with GDDR7 memory is named as the new gaming flagship.
👤 Finding the RTX 5090 at a reasonable price is nearly impossible: in Germany, the price has exceeded 5,000 euros (+73% since January), and on the US secondary market, the card costs $6,500–$9,500 against an MSRP of $1,999. It is more logical to choose the RTX 5080 or a used RTX 4090.
