🎨 Capcom Turns RE ENGINE Into an AI-Generation Game Engine

At the Capcom Open Conference RE:2026 (October 2), programmer Satoshi Ishida presented the REX project: the engine is not being rewritten from scratch, but is being expanded with modules RE:Dox, RE:UI, RE:Log, RE:Flows, and RE:Runtime. It was used to make Resident Evil 7 and 27+ major releases, and is used by more than 2000 developers.

🌍 The essence is machine-readable development: a single log format, game logic prototypes, and open components for model training. Goals: code auto-generation and auto-playtests of bugs.

👤 No "neural network-drawn" games: Capcom refused to insert AI assets into releases. The focus is on deadlines — AI will speed up assembly, testing, and debugging. Reason to watch: open-source parts of REX.
