The company used this as an apology for the rough launch of GPT-6.1 Sol: due to a surge in requests, speed in the first two days fell below expectations.

🌍 Similar resets at OpenAI have already occurred on August 11 and 29, and September 26, 2026 — distributing limits is becoming its working response to load-related outages.
