💼 Nscale, a 'neocloud' company, is going public with a $1 billion loss in the first half of the year

The company, spun off from Bitcoin miner Arkon Energy in 2024, filed an S-1 with the SEC on September 18, 2026: listing on the NYSE under the ticker NSCL, valuation of approximately $30 billion. First-half revenue grew 13.5-fold to $140.6 million, but the loss reached $1.02 billion, with $103.4 billion in contracted capacity.

🌍 This is the first window into the economics of 'neoclouds' since CoreWeave: GPUs and data centers are being purchased on credit, and debt has exceeded $8 billion. Without external financing, contracted capacity will not turn into real servers.

👤 For ML teams planning large-scale training: GPU availability and pricing in 2027–2028 will depend on Nscale's conversion of contracts into real capacity; more than half of revenue comes from a single customer.
