The link graph
The intended public graph for one story is simple:
- Homepage or index teaser links to the short news page.
- Homepage or index teaser links to the expanded article when longform exists.
- The short news page links to the expanded article.
- The expanded article links back to the short news page.
- Topic and project pages link to both as examples, but do not copy their bodies.
Why this rule exists
It protects users from confusing navigation and protects SEO from duplicate pages. It also gives LLM assistants a clean answer: the brief is the short event record, and the article is the detailed context.
What is forbidden
A topic page, generated home section, or alternate route should not become a third retelling of the same news event. If the text is another body for the same story, it belongs in the existing short or expanded surface, not in a new page type.
