🛠 **Developers Demand Official Claude Desktop for Linux**
Through a GitHub issue, the community is urging Anthropic to release an official version of Claude Desktop for Ubuntu and Debian. Currently, the client is only available on macOS and Windows, forcing Linux users to rely on third-party builds or the Claude Code CLI version.
🌍 The lack of official support creates security risks, as users must trust unofficial repacks with their data. It also slows the development of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) plugin ecosystem by making it difficult to test extensions.
👤 If you work on Linux, you must currently rely on third-party tools to access features like Computer Use or Cowork, or use the terminal-based Claude Code.
