🛡 Largest crypto heist: $6.34 billion stolen from Binance
According to Binance's report, approximately $6.34 billion in assets was drained from hot wallets on October 29. The attack was prepared over months: engineers were infected via a trojanized Homebrew and a fake 'test assignment,' and through compromised machines and the exchange's internal AI tool, attackers accessed the transaction signing service.
🌍 The risk has shifted to the compromise of signing services and AI tools: EIP-7702 delegation allowed funds to be withdrawn bypassing standard mechanisms. Isolation of AI agents and auditing of deployment tokens are necessary.
👤 Do not install 'popular' AI tools from random search links and do not run 'test assignments' on your work computer. Even the largest exchange can lose billions in ~20 minutes, and freezing funds is not a refund.
