🛠 paste-preview plugin: Annotating screenshots in Claude Code
User alan890104 released paste-preview 0.2.0 (MIT) for Claude Code: instead of the [Image #1] placeholder, a thumbnail of the pasted image appears and an editor opens — pen, arrow, box, crop, seven colors. After pressing Enter, Claude receives the annotated version, not the original.
🌍 The plugin is built on the Claude Code 2.1.291+ mods system and shows how the plugin API (session.append) changes the model's input: the original is removed, and the path to the annotated file is substituted. It is a working example of Anthropic community mods, but there are no measurements of the utility of annotation yet.
👤 It is installed with a single command without a restart and works locally. Thumbnails are only available in Ghostty and kitty; they are not available in tmux and Windows Terminal. Circle a bug with an arrow or box — Claude will receive the annotated image.
