OpenAI has updated the extension: @chrome reads open tabs and collects data from multiple pages. Work mode based on Computer Use fills out forms, downloads files, and groups tabs. It works on all plans in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi.

🌍 Computer Use moves from demos to a mass-market browser agent: web task automation becomes a standard feature. The cost is broad permissions: data from all sites, history, bookmarks, and the debugger API.

👤 Access is requested for each site (Allow once / Allow for this site / Allow for all sites): do not grant global access, remove API keys and passwords from open tabs, and start with read-only tasks.
