On October 14, 2026, Anthropic updated the Claude Code desktop app: tasks run in parallel in nested sessions, and results return to the main conversation. The sidebar shows which sessions are running or waiting for a response.

🌍 Claude Code is becoming an orchestrator of agent sessions: persistent environments (folders, SSH connections, clouds with a separate Git worktree per folder) allow working on multiple tasks across different repositories without file conflicts. Competition among coding agents is shifting from answer quality to orchestration.

👤 Update the app (Code tab) and run two tasks at once. Side questions — via /btw (Cmd+; / Ctrl+;) in a separate tab, without interrupting the main session. Available on macOS and Windows, Linux is in beta, on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.
