FANUC and Google Unveil AI Welding Agent for Welding Robots

🛠 AI Welding Agent: AI welds from a blueprint

FANUC, together with Google, announced the Physical AI system AI Welding Agent based on Gemini Enterprise: the CRX controller's camera photographs a blueprint, recognizes the material and part geometry, and automatically sets the current, voltage, and robot motion program. Shipments begin at the end of December 2026.

🌍 Today, translating a blueprint into a robot program is done manually by a welder and an integrator. If "zero setup, zero teaching" works, small-batch production will accelerate, and the shortage of welders will be partially offset. Subscription is available through existing FANUC contracts.

👤 No programming required: the generated program can be run as is or adjusted point by point. Price, accuracy, and supported CRX models have not yet been disclosed.
