Thibo Sottiaux, Head of Codex at OpenAI, promised on X on October 5: for 28 days, there will be either a clear improvement for most users or an announcement of a full quota reset. The reset replenishes remaining limits, not the cap.

🌍 Sottiaux is turning Codex development into a daily public check-in—a rare accountability format, a response to outages and the release of Claude Opus 5.5. Priorities: product simplification, efficiency on the same quota, breakthrough features, new models.

👤 Codex and Work users get a daily checkpoint: a feature or fresh quotas (Settings → Usage). Hoarding quotas is pointless: the remaining balance is updated, not the cap, so start large tasks immediately. On October 30, Pro 200 limits are being reduced (20x → 10x).
