🛡 Kalypta 'jams' AI meeting recorders

On September 16, startup Deveillance released Kalypta — an app that blocks AI notetakers (Granola, Wispr Flow, Cluely): a local model mixes adversarial noise into the audio against Whisper and NVIDIA Canary. According to vendor benchmarks on 100 Common Voice clips in Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams, WER rises from 4.4% to 50.5–59.7% — about half of the words are recognized.

🌍 First consumer anti-transcription product: the start of the 'adversarial noise vs. ASR' race. Transcription providers will have to retrain for such distortions, and meeting platforms will have to decide whose side privacy is on.

👤 If you are being silently recorded through Granola, Wispr Flow, or Cluely, you can get on Kalypta's beta list and become 'inaudible' to AI. But for now, it is only macOS on Apple Silicon, the noise is audible to humans, speech intelligibility drops, and there is no independent verification of the numbers.
