🛡 Israel Paid for a Network of AI Articles to Influence Chatbot Answers

According to 404 Media (August 25, 2026), the Israeli government, through the agency LaPam, is paying to influence chatbot answers: the firm Piro Inc., through a "synthetic" Hanover Institute, published more than 100 AI articles about Israel, Gaza, and antisemitism, which was confirmed by the detector Pangram.

🌍 The scheme is "LLM optimization": the campaign site publishes llms.txt to make it easier for language models to scrape, and headlines are formatted as questions/prompts. LLM answers have become a separate surface for information operations.

👤 Verify the sources of chatbot answers: anonymous articles with question headlines, footnotes without links, AI images, and llms.txt on the site are markers of such campaigns. Copies of the articles have been posted in FARA.
