Heretic author warns: his models cannot be used as text encoders for image generation

Philipp Emanuel Weidmann, the creator of Heretic, publicly warned on r/StableDiffusion that models processed by Heretic through directional ablation cannot be used as text encoders for H3, Flux, and Stable Diffusion — this distorts embeddings and reduces generation quality.

Philipp Emanuel Weidmann (p-e-w) published a warning on r/StableDiffusion: models processed by Heretic cannot be used as text encoders for H3, Flux, and Stable Diffusion. The directional ablation method distorts embeddings — this does not unlock censorship, but degrades quality.

🌍 For the open-source generation ecosystem: a warning about the boundaries of the SOMA method — the tool's author himself explains the mechanism of incompatibility. Important for ComfyUI workflows with H3 and Qwen3-VL.

👤 If you are using Heretic versions as text encoders in ComfyUI — you will get worse quality, not an "unlock". Save VRAM — use the original models.
