🛡 Launch of Akrites: Protecting Open Source from AI Threats

The Linux Foundation, together with OpenAI, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and other giants, has launched the Akrites initiative. The project implements a Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) and a standardized Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure (CVD) process, while also taking on the support of critical packages that lack active maintainers.

🌍 Creating a unified defensive perimeter for Open Source in an era where AI agents find and exploit code errors faster than humans can patch them.

👤 Infrastructure dependencies will become more secure against automated attacks, and the process of fixing security holes will become systemic.
