🌿 OpenAI lets you talk to a houseplant
OpenAI has published the Plant Talk project on GitHub — a system that allows for voice dialogues with houseplants via ChatGPT. The project uses a webcam to visually assess the plant's condition and can be expanded using Arduino and soil moisture and light sensors.
🌍 This is a demonstration of the capabilities of multimodal LLMs (vision + voice) integrated with consumer hardware and IoT solutions, opening paths toward creating new interactive household interfaces.
👤 You can create your own "talking" plant using just a laptop, or build an advanced version with Arduino to receive real-time notifications about watering status through dialogue.
